If you sub in '90s R&B for those '90s shows, then Miguel has a similar mission of dirtying up the norm on "Simplethings," taken from the latest Girls soundtrack. As I'm led to believe, the show Girls attempts to add some grit to the "twentysomethings in the big city" narrative that Sex in the City and Friends popularized.
